Manchester-based Entwistle Group has installed a Revoria Press PC1120 digital press from Fujifilm together with an inline booklet-making system from Plockmatic, supplied and integrated by Jet Tech.
According to the companies involved, the installation makes Entwistle Group one of the first print businesses in the UK to adopt the combined finishing system.
Jason Richards, managing director of Entwistle Group, first saw the press demonstrated at The Print Show 2025.
He commented: “I’d gone to the show with no real intention to make any hardware purchases, but as we were wandering around, we saw Fujifilm printing samples on the Revoria PC1120 using their speciality colours.”
Entwistle Group had already been producing work with speciality colours on an existing press, but rising operating costs prompted the company to reassess its equipment. After the show, Jet Tech arranged a visit to Fujifilm’s customer innovation centre in Luton, where Entwistle Group was able to test its own files and review sample output.
“When I did the numbers, it was a cost-neutral scenario for us; it was almost a no-brainer. We could get the latest piece of kit, without increasing our costs, with no compromise to quality,” Mr Richards said.
The company placed an order within four weeks. Initially configured as a six-colour press with pink and white toners, the specification was later expanded to include silver after new business opportunities emerged shortly after the order was placed.
Mr Richards said the long-sheet format and ability to integrate inline finishing were key to the decision. “What really made me sign on the dotted line was the fact that we could do an A4 long sheet,” he said. “We could do a 305sqmm booklet made through the system, finished in one go, and it just worked. Previously, that’s a job that we’d have had to outsource, but now it’s produced in-house, giving us full production control.”
He added that the inline booklet maker has already improved efficiency in production. “The booklet maker’s slitting feature has been extremely useful for us as it automatically trims, square-backs and staples in one go as it comes through. We’re getting beautiful looking booklets coming out with no issues.”
Andrew Crane, director at Jet Tech, said the company’s role extends beyond hardware supply to workflow and business development support, while Fujifilm’s Aspire programme is intended to help customers identify higher-value applications.
Spencer Green, head of print-on-demand at Fujifilm UK, said the installation would help Entwistle Group expand its ability to produce short-run and personalised print while improving workflow and maintaining production efficiency.
