The move marks a further expansion of the company’s Isle of Wight production facility, aimed at increasing capacity while enabling a broader range of materials and finishes to be handled with improved speed and consistency. The system combines automated operation with a compact footprint, supporting integration within Diametric’s existing production environment.
“Our customers look to us for quality, responsiveness, and technical precision across some of the most demanding materials,” said Joe Newnham, managing director at Diametric. “The ColorCut FB9500 Pro T from Plockmatic Group brings a new level of capability to our operation – fast, fully automated, incredibly versatile and with a small footprint. It gives us even greater confidence to deliver consistent accuracy across every substrate we handle. Agreeing on the ColorCut FB9500 Pro T was a virtual no-brainer with the range of substrates that can be used and many advanced features. This is a new productivity touchpoint, with a drastic increase in automation and productivity.”
Designed for high-volume, unattended production, the FB9500 Pro T features an auto feeder with capacity for up to 1000 sheets, alongside a vacuum and air blade system to maintain reliable sheet handling, including laminated and static-prone substrates. SmartMark registration and a rear mark scanning system are intended to support accurate sheet positioning while removing the need for physical cutting dies.
The system also offers cutting speeds of up to 1200mm/sec and incorporates QR-coded workflows for job recall, supporting both production runs and prototyping.
Ed Hudson, UK general manager at Plockmatic Group, said: “Diametric’s values and reputation for precision, quality, and continuous innovation perfectly align with our own. We’re delighted that the ColorCut FB9500 Pro T is helping to support its growth as well as improve efficiency across such a wide range of specialist materials. This installation underlines how our automation technology can help manufacturers of all sizes achieve exceptional, repeatable results.”
Founded in 1982, Diametric manufactures badges, labels, nameplates, and fascias, operating from Southampton and the Isle of Wight. The company holds ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications, along with IATF 16949 accreditation and Jaguar Land Rover’s JLRQ quality award.
