Southend United FC has worked with trade printer Solopress to redesign and rebrand its changing rooms and players’ tunnel at its Roots Hall stadium.
The project is the latest in a long-standing partnership between the club and Solopress, which previously included front-of-shirt sponsorship in the 2023/24 season and ongoing support as the team’s official print partner.
Following Southend’s run to the Wembley play-off final last year, the club wanted to provide players with upgraded facilities ahead of the new season. Solopress was asked to create a design that would deliver a professional and motivational environment, using wall and floor graphics alongside foamex boards.

Michael Day, Southend United’s account manager at Solopress, visited Roots Hall to assess the space and scope of the project before handing the brief to the Solodesign team. The challenge was to ensure that large-scale graphics were consistent across multiple panels.
Designer Oscar Jackson, a long-time Southend supporter, produced the final visuals, which were approved at the first draft. “It just came naturally!” he said.
The new-look changing rooms were revealed to the players without advance notice. According to Rylee Doe, Southend United’s commercial manager: “Southend United have been working with Solopress for multiple seasons and we’re incredibly proud of our partnership. We were very impressed with the branding of the changing rooms at Wembley Stadium and felt that it was important to replicate that professionalism at Roots Hall for our first team squad. Oscar Jackson and Michael Day were amazing to work with and their support for the team shows in the work produced for us. We hope that the new changing room design sparks inspiration for all of our players throughout the seasons to come.”
A Solopress spokesperson added: “Solopress has thoroughly enjoyed working with the Southend United team and looks forward to many projects in the future.”
