One of India’s largest digital print companies, ColorJet, has teamed up with Japanese giant Konica Minolta to promote the former’s digital textile printers across the later’s global network.

The two companies are already able to look back on a decades-old strategic partnership and this latest development will see ColorJet machines initially made available in China and Pakistan, before being rolled out across the rest of the world.

ColorJet, which describes itself as the largest digital printer manufacturer in India, already designs its VastraJet and Metro textile printers around Konica Minolta’s printhead technology. The company says this new agreement with its Japanese partner will allow it to ‘offer comprehensive solutions to the digital textile print industry all over the world, using the combined technological and commercial channel leadership of both companies.’

The company, whose headquarters can be found around 20 miles outside central New Delhi, has been in business since 2004 and has installed more than 4500 printers in the years since. It describes its philosophy as ‘Smart Indian engineering, for sustained long-term profit.’

ColorJet and Konica Minolta are ultimately aiming to see market share rise by 15 – 17% in their initial target countries. They believe this will be made possible by the increased product range on offer, the amount of entrepreneurs operating in the textile and apparel industries and value added through improved products and services. MS Dadu, chairman and managing director of Colorjet, described this latest initiative as being ‘what our diverse customers want.’
