South coast-based Dayfold has purchased and installed a PFI Blade B2 digital cutting table from Duplo in order to pursue new market opportunities.

Working with brands and agencies across multiple sectors Dayfold produced what it calls ‘solution-based’ print. Managing director Del Simmons explained, ‘We don’t simply take orders and process quotes, we develop the campaigns and ideas that the brands and creative agencies have, working hand in hand to deliver fantastic solutions to their projects. This is why we made the move to look into digital cutting tables; the more we use the PFI Blade B2, the more we learn and the more we are finding new opportunities to get creative. It has provided us with various added value solutions to our offering.

We were looking at the smaller B3 model and some other manufacturers, but the B2 has more flexibility and embellishment opportunities than the other models. The sheet size is also an extra tick in the box for us. Our operators have been really impressed with the versatility of the machine,’ he added.

The PFI Blade B2 is described by Duplo as a compact and affordable cutting solution that requires no physical dies to create impactful and highly intricate designs. Used with Duplo Connect software, it can produce short-run packaging, prototyping, labels and promotional items. There is also a  roll feeding option which allows oversized materials to be fed and cut, creating longer finished applications such as vinyl to make labels and clothing transfer products amongst others.

Dayfold’s press portfolio includes HP Indigo and Ricoh digital presses, complemented by a Duplo booklet-maker with square back binding and further digital finishing equipment including  foiling, conventional die-cutting, embossing, bonding, folding and stitching.
