Ricoh has launched the IM CW2200 large format printer/scanner for use in inplant, CRD and manufacturing/engineering environments.

The multifunction device is said to offer a secure technical document hub in addition to its print and scanning capabilities. The roll-fed printer runs at up 35.3mm/sec in colour and over 106mm/sec in mono. It uses Ricoh’s Gel-Jet print heads and inks which produce smudge-free UV-resistant output suitable for drawings and plans that have to be viewed on construction sites or in manufacturing environments. The piezoelectric Ricoh print heads are ‘permanent’ rather than being classed as a consumable, which should help keep down cost of ownership.

Prints up to 33m in length may be made from a single roll, supported by automatic roll feeding. There is a 10-sheet A1 stack tray for scanning input and the units is controlled from a touch screen interface that is consistent in style and operation to other Ricoh large format printers.

Craig Lewis, director, corporate sales, Ricoh Graphic Communications at Ricoh Europe, said, ‘The Ricoh IM CW2200 is the latest evolution in Ricoh technology and makes easier work of large precision CAD documents or CAD drawings to meet the needs of today’s businesses. It minimises downtime with uninterrupted high-speed printing, even faster scanning, and digitises projects with automated scanning capabilities. This means less time at the printer and more time focusing on projects.’

The IM CW2200 is available immediately across the EMEA region.
