Morgana Systems has added the AeroCut X and AeroCut X Pro, manufactured by Japanese firm Uchida, to the range of multi-function print finishing devices it offers.

‘As we exit the Covid restrictions customers are increasingly looking at automating the crease, cut, slit and perforated finishing applications,’ explained Ray Hillhouse, VP sales and marketing, for the Plockmatic Group Offline Business Unit. ‘The new AeroCut is faster and more connectable than the previous versions, with a range of plug-ins to connect you to the desktop applications or to imposed files from the RIP. Products in this entry-level arena continue to expand the set of functions on offer. They provide incredible value for money for printers seeking simple yet productive, and ever more automated solutions. I’m expecting a significant amount of interest from a broad range of printers.’

Morgana describes the AeroCut X as ‘the ideal solution’ for finishing short-run digitally-printed applications. Potential examples include business cards, where the machine is able to produce up to 10,800 full bleed standard business cards per hour, post cards, invitations, greetings cards, leaflets and tickets.

It comes with a patented feeding mechanism, features two single blade slitters to trim top and bottom margins of the sheet, and two double blade slitters for bleed centre gutters. The self-sharpening slitter and guillotine can cut stocks measuring up to 370 x 750mm, in weights of up to 400gsm. Other features include detachable rollers and the a possibility of fitting barcode reading to allow for more automated production.

The AeroCut X Pro, meanwhile, is fully loaded with perforation in both directions, with strike perforation and the barcode reader fitted as standard to tackle more complex applications.

Both the AeroCut X and X Pro will be on display at the upcoming Print ‘n’ Finish Event, taking place at Morgana’s showroom in Milton Keynes from 14 – 16 September.
