Renz (UK) has confirmed that Ross Blackwood is to join the company on a two-year BPIF Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

From 1 September, Mr Blackwood will be based at Renz’s new Luton premises. The apprenticeship training will be delivered by BOSS/ BPIF, the largest supplier of apprenticeships to the UK printing industry whilst Mr Blackwood will be mentored by sales office and marketing manager Stephen Partington.

During the apprenticeship Mr Blackwood will be taught all aspects of the business and gain an overview from the ground up. Among his many duties will be monitoring the progress of customer orders, inputting sales orders, assisting the sales team with enquiries, liaising with customers and monitoring stock levels for the purchasing department.

‘We are proud to be able to offer this great opportunity to a student keen to join the industry after sixth form,’ said managing director Iain Bullock. ‘We are delighted to welcome Ross to our new Luton head office that spearheads our modernisation programme following 23 years of trading in Hatfield Park. We are a small tight knit company that looks after our staff. We have employees who joined straight from school with limited academic qualifications in the past who now hold senior positions and have over 15 years’ service.’

Dominic Wing, higher and degree apprenticeship manager, BOSS/BPIF, added, ‘Having spoken with Iain we both felt there was a fabulous opportunity for the right person to succeed at Renz. BOSS, with partner BPIF Training, were delighted to support Iain during the recruitment process and are very happy to be working with Renz, a BOSS member, to deliver the apprenticeship training programme.’
