PressOn has created two custom floors of retail space in central London as part of Harrods’ Fashion Re-Told initiative.

The initiative involves the renowned department store curating and staffing a temporary charity shop. PressOn supplied the graphics for all walls, floors, lifts and stairs in the store, which can this year be found at 51 Marylebone High Street, donated by Howard de Walden Estates.

The Chatham-based digital printer covered every surface with a series of floral graphics, creating a bespoke English flower-garden concept, designed by Harrods.

Using four different substrates on walls, floors, lift doors and tension fabrics frames systems to create one repeating visual effect was a technical challenge. PressOn took advantage of the colour gamut of the HP R2000 hybrid and its roll-fed HP LX3600 for the print and used GMG colour management software to ensure consistency of colour across all aspects of the job. Installation took place over four nights in April.

The store will offer designer clothing and accessories donated by both British and international designers. Money raised by the initiative will go to the NSPCC’s services in the capital; last years’ efforts raised more than £110,000.

‘Supporting Harrods and the NSPCC for Fashion Re-told 2019 was a great honour for us at PressOn and we’re very proud of the finished result,’ said senior project manager Shannell Davies. ‘Seeing the transformation of an empty shell to this stunning store using printed graphics has been amazing!’
