Screen Europe has appointed Akihiro Fujii as its new president. Mr Fujii replaces Takanori Kakita, who has become president of the company as a whole and will now be based at the head office in Japan.

Mr Kakita has been at the helm in Amstelveen, the Netherlands, for the last four years. During that time the company has grown all areas of its business, particularly in digital inkjet equipment. Mr Fujii, meanwhile, has been with Screen for almost 30 years. He has previously held senior positions in Screen Australia and Screen America.

‘It is a pleasure to take up this role, and to have the opportunity to work with the team here in Europe,’ said Mr Fujii. ‘In particular, I am keen to meet new and existing Screen customers and to develop strong partnerships beneficial to everyone. Digital inkjet has come of age, and Screen has a superb portfolio of products designed to meet the needs of the market sectors we serve.’

‘Our congratulations go to our colleague Mr Kakita on his promotion,’ said Bui Burke, Screen Europe senior vice president. ‘We are very much looking forward to working with Mr Fujii, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience which will help us to continue to build on our success as a leading supplier of digital inkjet products to the high-speed continuous and label printing markets.’
