The RF-640 8 Colour is claimed to cover up to 99% of the Pantone+ Solid Coated colour range

Offering “the widest colour gamut in its class” for outdoor durable graphics, Roland DG has launched the VersaEXPRESS RF-640 8 Colour eco-solvent printer.

An evolution of the RF-640 dual CMYK printer, the RF-640 8 Colour features CMYK plus light black, red, green and orange inks to deliver improved colour matching capabilities without compromising outdoor durability.

The new printer was previewed earlier this year at Fespa. Paul Willems, head of business development and product management, commented, ‘The impact of the prints coming off the RF-640 8 Colour literally stopped visitors in their tracks at Fespa. There was an incredible buzz around the vibrancy of colour, detail and overall print quality. We are excited to bring this solution to market today.’

Designed for PSPs looking to match corporate brand colours, the RF-640 8 Colour model is claimed to cover up to 99% of the Pantone+ Solid Coated range. Mr Willems explained, ‘Green and orange are notoriously difficult colours to accurately reproduce, so these additions, along with red, offer enormous opportunities to PSPs working with corporate customers and major brands.’

The extended set of inks with light black also deliver improved skin tones and smooth gradients for photographic-quality reproduction.

The RF-640 8 Colour is driven by the ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 Special Plus RIP, and is now available across the EMEA region.
