Partner companies have been announced for this year’s London Calling print finishing event, organised by Duplo, will be held at the O2 arena in Greenwich. Called ‘London Calling Rocks,’ it will be held on 6 and 7 November.
The ‘Rock’ part of the name relates to the venue, which is in the British Music Experience, an ‘interactive’ museum of popular music within the O2.
The show is dubbed as a digital relaunch for Duplo, with a number of new products being launched to the UK market, including the Digital System 2200 utilising the new DSF-2200 digital sheet feeder, as well as the new and improved DC-645i with Touchscreen PC programming and the single-pass bookletmaking line, the Digital System 445 Pro.
In addition, there are UK debuts from Eurofold, showing the new Touchline CP-375 multi-perforator/creaser, Ideal with the new 4860-LT guillotine and new to the Duplo range, the Fastback 20 desktop thermal binding system.
Partner companies signed up so far include Esko, which will show a Kongsberg iXE-10 digital cutting table; Balreed, with a Konica Minolta bizhub Pro 6000L digital press; Fujifilm, with an Acuity LED 1600 roll fed wide format UV-cured inkjet; and VPress with its Coreprint web to print software.
The ‘Rock’ theme gives a clue to the type of applications that will be finished at the event. Duplo said that its exclusive VIP evening on Tuesday 6 November ‘is set to be the social event of the print industry calendar for 2012.’ Surely not – that’ll be the Digital Printer Awards later the same month!
