Toyota Sweden uses the locr maps with the GMC Inspire platform for dealer promotions.

High end customer communications and output management systems developer GMC Software Technology is enhancing its Inspire platform with support for personalised maps.

This comes as a result of a partnership with locr maps, a supplier of individualised maps for print and cross media. GMC said it ‘provides a substantial advancement concerning integration of individual maps into documents.’ The maps can be requested and generated in parallel on the locr servers and returned to the application via the web-based locr maps software interface.

‘The seamless integration of locr maps in GMC Inspire allows GMC clients to easily embed personalized maps in different customer communications such as transactional documents, direct mail and transpromo. Maps have proven to improve response rates and can therefore help to make customer communication more successful ,’ said Bill Parker, chief at GMC.

Its Inspire platform is an end to end solution for Customer Communications Management, designed to help businesses increase customer engagement, response rates and operational efficiency.

‘GMC customers can now retrieve maps in high print quality and good performance directly from our cloud-based solution. The solution now allows clients to use individualized maps in the production environment, fully embedded and in an efficient and comfortable way. On a project basis, even very large volumes become possible,’ added Thomas Schnettler, responsible for business development at locr.

locr claims to be one of very few suppliers that can deliver large quantities of individualised maps in print resolution quality, within a short time frame. Its services cover more than 100 countries around the globe. According to GMC many of its European GMC customers have already used these maps a project by project basis, especially for direct mail projects.

The maps can show the location of the recipient and one or multiple outlet or shop locations of the advertiser. Routes showing the direct path from the recipient to the shop can be integrated, as well as customer logos and icons. Additional geo information, like distance and travel time can be supplied as well. Legally licensed locr maps are generated based on the latest geo information provided by the navigation data provider NAVTEQ.
