Morgana will remain at its Milton Keynes offices.

Booklet making systems manufacturer Plockmatic International AB has acquired Morgana Systems, the Milton Keynes-based manufacturer of offline document finishing systems. Although a wholly owned subsidiary of Plockmatic, which is part of Grimaldi Industri Group in Stockholm, Morgana will retain its UK offices, and Quen Baum remains as managing director.

Mr Baum welcomed the development, saying: ‘The combined companies and brands will be even stronger in the market, and will better serve our customers and staff.’

Plockmatic’s chief executive office Jan Marstorp added: ‘For a long time we’ve had enormous respect for Morgana’s people and its products. Together, these two innovative companies add value to the printed page as part of the communications mix.’

The Swedish company makes inline booklet making systems for the mid-range digital print segment, as well as offline booklet makers sold through independent distributors, and mail feeding systems available through distributors and OEM partners. Grimaldi Industri Group is a €250 million turnover organisation with 1300 employees. Its businesses include leading bicycle brands such as Bianchi, Peugeot, and Gitane, and companies involved in manufacturing spools for hydraulic valves, and e-learning solutions.
