The HP Latex 3000 printer

Wallpaper manufacturer The Surface Print Company has purchased a duo of HP machines, the Latex 3000 and the Latex 260 Printers, adding digital printing to the company’s capabilities.

The company is one of only a handful of wallpaper manufacturers left in the UK and specialises in contract printing. The new Latex 3000 will run alongside the existing traditional printing machines at the premises, and will enable the company to produce one off and bespoke digitally printed wallpapers for interior designers and specialist wallpaper designers.

Abigail Watson, sales director, explained, ‘Lancashire is renowned in the world for producing fine grade wallpapers and at The Surface Print Company, we pride ourselves in producing only the best. Some of our existing machines are solidly built from cast-iron and will run for years. We believe in manufacturing only the highest quality wallpapers and we looked at a few machines to help us with our ambition to digitally print wallpapers. CWE Solutions introduced us to the HP Latex 3000, which was the winner in the end. It can produce everything we want it to and more and will keep us ahead of the game, it’s solidly built and we’re very confident it fits our machine profile beautifully.  CWE Solutions helped us with procuring samples and were there to offer advice and assistance all along the purchase decision making process.’

The printer, which made its debut at FESPA 2013, offers all the quality of print associated with HP Latex but with industrial speeds of up to 77 sqm/hr for indoor projects and up to 120 sqm/hr for outdoor jobs. It is capable of printing onto a wide range of substrates including wallpapers, foils, nonwovens and vinyls.
