The K3600 on show at Kern’s inaugural open house

At Kern’s inaugural open house event, the manufacturer showed guests its two newest inserting products, the K5000 and K3600.

The systems will broaden the company’s offering to mailing houses and printers alike. The K3600 inserting system is an upgrade from the K3500 and can run with documents between 82 mm x 148 mm to 356 mm x 225 mm, and can processes at up to 27,000 env/hr in formats from C6 to B5.

The K5000 however is a multiformat inserting system which can be used for all envelope sizes and contains an intelligent software system which can adapt the machine’s configuration between jobs, meaning there is no down time when a job change is required.

Pete Jolly, general manager, said, ‘The main aim of the open house was to show the products we have now and also what our customers can expect in the next 12 months. It’s a fairly relaxed environment here which gives our guests a lot of time to look around the whole demo site and look in detail at what they are interested in, with the advantage of being able to talk to the number of partners we have on site.’

The open house event ran for four days between 8 – 11 September in Munsingen, Switzerland, where customers could see the entire Kern range, as well as products for the entire printing/mailing workflow, including software, from a number of partners who were also on show at the open house.
