The first edition of Charlie Hebdo to be published since the attack on the satirical cartoonist’s headquarters has sold out across France, pushing the publisher to increase the print run to 5 million.
There has been an overwhelming demand for the issue, which usually only prints runs of 60,000. The magazine’s latest ‘Je suis Charlie’ edition has been published across the world a week after the attacks in Paris which killed 17 including nine Charlie Hebdo journalists.
The front cover of the special edition depicts an image of Prophet Mohammed holding a ‘Je suis Charlie’ sign, with the words ‘Tout est pardonne’ (All is forgiven) written above.
People were queuing up from the early hours of the morning to buy a copy of the ‘Survivor issue’, with reports stating that some kiosks in Paris had sold out within minutes.
Not all intend to hold on to their copy, however, with a number of copies making their way onto eBay, with one receiving bids of over £1,500.
