CMP, Dorset-based digital print specialist, has increased its productivity with the installation of two Ricoh Pro C901 digital colour production systems.

Paul Dawe, managing director, said, ‘We operate in a competitive, on-demand marketplace. The ability to innovate and turn high quality work around at speed is what keeps us ahead of the competition. We needed a colour technology partner that could help us deliver on our most immediate needs at the same time as demonstrating continuous improvement, which is exactly what Ricoh does. As well as seeing a huge upturn in productivity and a reduction in waste, we are now able to produce litho-esque digital quality to accommodate our rapidly expanding client list in the marketing, training, education, manufacturing and the on-demand book markets’

The Ricoh Pro C901 is equipped to produce a variety of printed materials, high levels of versatility, scalability and performance. Its flexible workflow, feeding and inline finishing suits any print volume, low or high, while paper path technology enhancements significantly improve productivity, front to back registration and colour accuracy, impressively marrying offset-like quality with the added value of digital.

Stephen Palmer, director, production print, Ricoh UK & managing director of Ricoh Ireland said, ‘We are proud of the innovative features, high performance and durability of our production printing portfolio and this is clearly demonstrated via the Ricoh Pro C901 suite. Benefits include a 20% higher duty cycle than previous models at 700,000 impressions per month. Uptime is also enhanced with larger sized toner bottles that require fewer changes per shift. Both these features help our clients increase their productivity and enable Ricoh to support print service providers and enhance the value they bring to their clients as they grow into the future.’

According to the company the Pro C901 is the fastest engine in mid-production, printing at speeds of 90 A4 colour pages per minute in duplex mode. It accepts media sizes up to SRA3 with a maximum weight of 350 gsm; and up to 300 gsm without compromising speed.

Integrated full-colour scanning, copying and document storage is designed to meet image capture and print-on-demand requirements. The engine also now supports accurate registration on heavy 350 gsm paper – ideal for direct mail, postcards and business card printing.
