A Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV wide format printer with dual flat-bed/roll-to-roll capability has been bought by Clicks to add significant capacity and flexibility to its large format service operation.
The new combination printer was at FESPA 2015 and it will be in full production at Clicks’s central London facility.
Alan Rigglesford, managing director, celebrated his new investment at FESPA this week: ‘It’s important to our business and our clients that we use the very latest technology to deliver a first rate print/finish/install service. Our production director Graham Leggett spent six months researching all the latest 3.2 m wide printers available before deciding on the Screen Truepress Jet. It handles true flat-bed and true roll-to-roll performance – both at 150 sqm/hr! Quite simply no other printer delivers the same productivity and flexibility.’
The new high-speed Truepress Jet W3200UV (8 colour – CMYKLcLmWW) prints both roll and flat substrates. It replaces two flat-bed 20 sqm/hr Inca Spyders and an HP L65500 at Clicks and joins a variety of other small and large format digital printers.
‘There are lots of benefits: we are replacing three printers with just one that can handle both roll and flat substrate jobs – but at twice the speed – and we free valuable floor space to hold more finished jobs ready for despatch. Our customers want ever faster turnaround times and we are equipped to fulfil orders extremely quickly,’ added Mr Rigglesford.
The company specialises in creative displays for retail, OOH and exhibitions. ‘Retailers particularly like to achieve different effects. We like a challenge and are always exploring new techniques, materials, inks, textures and finishes,’ said Mr Rigglesford. ‘That’s another reason why we chose the Truepress Jet. Not only is the quality first rate, giving us the ability to print sharp fine text, solid flat tints, 1-8 advanced multilayers and 75 lpi lenticulars, but we can also print on a diverse range of materials from ultra-light newsprint all the way through to heavy weight metals if we wish.’
