York based Inc Dot Design & Print is replacing its three year old Linoprint C 751 with the latest generation Linoprint CP from Heidelberg.
‘Although most buyers are unconcerned whether their work is printed litho or digital there is still credibility if you say that you are running Heidelberg equipment. That badge and our ISO 9001 quality, ISO 140001 and FSC certifications are key selling points with our local business and public sector customers,’ said managing director Nick Turnbull.
The company needed a robust, substantially built digital press that could handle heavier weight boards up to 400gsm reliably and offer consistent colour.
‘Customers are often disappointed by the thinner boards usually run through digital machines. Having the ability to run 400 gsm stock will certainly give us an edge in the market. Also, this investment will change the breakpoint between litho and digital, taking the cost crossover much closer to the 1,000 run mark. Simply put, our customers are looking for the right quality, the right quantity, delivered at the right time and at the right price. As we move to an online selling service we are aware that the Linoprint will enable us to be increasingly responsive whilst remaining competitive,’ said Mr Turnbull.
