Gavin Wells, Atlantic area manager hands over the Ricoh Pro L4130 Printer installation to Vinyl Decals Direct owner Steve Tanner

Vinyl Decals Direct has become the first firm in the UK to install the Ricoh L4130 wide format printer using the latest generation of quick drying AR Latex inks.

The company’s need for fast production and faster turnaround times was central to its decision to opt for the latest Ricoh printer and inks over eco solvent or other latex machines.

‘The installation of the Pro L4130 has opened up a number of new business opportunities for our business,’ said Vinyl Decals’ managing director Steve Tanner. ‘The sharper images, vibrant colours with the ability to print quicker, without the need to de-gas is brilliant for our production deadlines.’

Investing in the 4130 was part of an expansion plan for the Coalville, Leicestershire based business, which also included new lamination equipment and a move to larger premises.

In another first, the machine was the first Ricoh Latex printer to be sold by Atlantic Tech Services since becoming a dealer for the machines this summer.

According to Atlantic Tech Services director Keith Pratt: ‘the installation at Vinyl Decals Direct was an important development with our sales of the Pro L4100 Series Latex Printers. These printers offer Ricoh Gen5 high-speed print heads that last and last, with the added benefit that you don’t have to change print heads after just a few litres of ink as with most other latex printers.

‘The recent release of the Ricoh AR fast drying Latex inks gives the L4130 printer the ability of printing at speeds up to 50% faster than its nearest rivals,’ he added.
