The digi-mollPAK System is suitable for packaging such as cartons, pillow packs, room key sleeves and presentation folders

Wickford, Essex-based B&R Moll has developed a compact in-line folder-gluer to assist digital and commercial printers with complex packaging projects.

The digi-mollPAK System in-line folder/gluer is a compact system that incorporates folding and feeding mechanisms developed by B&R Moll, supplier of folder-gluers and bindery finishing equipment for printing and packaging facilities.

Features include an open format system that facilitates quick change-over between jobs and a dual-stream capacity to enable multiple feeds. Positive feed control is provided by a bottom friction feeder that offers both continuous feed for regular stock as well as irregularly-shaped materials. A tipper plate with an air blast attachment, movable belts and pans, as well as anti-marking formers maintain the system’s workflow, and the system’s liftgate can be adjusted to allow for a quick job set-up.

‘We developed the digi-mollPAK System specifically for digital printers who needed a fast, flexible in-line folder-gluer that could deliver complex packaging jobs at an affordable price,’ said Darren Vernon, director of Moll International. ‘The compact digi-mollPAK System offers many of the same features found in our proven full-size Vantage folder-gluers.’

Accessories designed to increase the digi-mollPAK System’s efficiency for specific jobs include an inserting attachment, tape head/silicone head, vacuum belt system and a trombone feed assembly.

The digi-mollPAK system has a linear footprint of less than 5m, and handles material ranging from 140-500gsm stocks in sizes ranging from 50 x 102mm up to 914 x 508mm.
