No end in sight: HP has programmed an Indigo 20000 to print repeated wallpaper patterns

HP used last week’s Heimtextil show in Germany to launch a digital printing system for wallpaper production, based on its continuous-feed Indigo 20000 press.

Claimed to offer “gravure quality” coupled with the digital print benefits of on-demand production, faster time to market and reduced waste, the Indigo Wallpaper can produce “endless” print at 1515sqm/hr across a 74cm width roll.

The Indigo 20000 at the heart of the offering is programmed for repeat frameless printing, making it suitable for repeated wallpaper patterns or similar. Wallpapers for the press are available through suppliers such as Felix Schoeller and Van Merksteijn.

HP has also added a range of durable textiles certified for its Latex range of printers, suitable for producing soft signage and décor applications. Materials include 100% cotton, cotton linen and polyester. The HP latex inks have also received Eco Passport certification from Oeko-Tex.
