The European Digital Press Association (EDP) Award winners have been revealed at FESPA, Berlin, rewarding quality and innovation in technologies for the digital printing industry.

The awards honour the best developments in print production tools, software developments, substrates, inks, materials and finishing systems.  21 leading trade magazines with an editorial focus on digital print processes from all over Europe, covering 27 countries and reaching more than half a million readers in Europe, selected the winners according to criteria like achievement, quality and costs. 

The Highcon Euclid IIIC machine for corrugated board was awarded the “Best digital sheetfed cutting solution”. Jens Henrik Osmundsen, Highcon VP sales and GM of EMEA & APAC, said, ‘We are extremely proud to have won this award and to have received the recognition of this influential group of editors.’

CHILI publish won in the Layout, design and editing software category with CHILI publisher, the Universal Graphics Engine. The technical committee commented, ‘As a layout, design and editing software CHILI publisher is the most complete tool in this category. It has been a leading product for years – as the rebranded engine it takes its existing functionalities to a higher level even.’ 

Ricoh’s creative sheetfed series of digital colour presses achieved recognition, winning with the Ricoh Pro C7200x series digital colour sheet fed presses. Eef De Ridder, director commercial printing, said, ‘We developed this newest series of presses for our portfolio of solutions to address the day-to-day market demands and challenges our clients face. We are delighted that their quality, productivity and versatility have been acknowledged by the EDP.’

Single-pass corrugated packaging press, the EFI Nozomi C18000 was the winner of the 2018 EDP Award for best corrugated solution. The ultra-high-speed (75-linear m/min) press has multiple installations worldwide and is used to drive efficiencies in digital packaging production.
