Roland DG has expanded its industrial direct-to-object printing portfolio with the launch of the VersaObject IO-300 flatbed printer and VersaObject RC-300 Series for cylindrical applications.

The two UV printing systems are aimed at manufacturers, decorators, print service providers and packaging producers handling high-mix, short-run production and customised products.

The VersaObject IO-300 is designed for industrial parts decoration, product customisation and other applications requiring accuracy and repeatability. It features newly developed printheads and offers production speeds of up to 3.5sqm/hr in standard CMYK mode.

EUV-H hard and EUV-A flexible ink options are available, with configurations including CMYK, white, primer and gloss. The machine also offers multi-layer printing for applications requiring registration across multiple layers.

With a 770 x 515mm print area, the IO-300 can print onto materials including polycarbonate, ABS, acrylic, PVC, glass, aluminium, stainless steel, wood, leather and rubber. Potential applications include control panels, nameplates, promotional products, cosmetic packaging and customised consumer goods.

Alongside the flatbed system, Roland DG has introduced the VersaObject RC-300 Series, a helical printer for direct printing onto cylindrical objects including bottles, tumblers, drinkware, cans and packaging. It can also handle tapered and irregular geometries.

Available as the RC-300 and RC-300c, the LED UV inkjet systems are intended for short-run and customised production. The RC-300c is specifically suited to clear and translucent bottles.

The machines use EUV-H hard inks in CMYK, white, gloss and primer and can print onto materials including glass, PET, aluminium, steel and rigid plastics. Roland DG says the RC-300 Series can print a medium-sized object in approximately 60 seconds, based on white plus CMYK printing of a 10mm-diameter, 200mm-long object.

Both systems include VersaWorks RIP and Roland DG Connect print management software and are available through Roland DG authorised partners worldwide from 1 September 2026.
