X-Rite Pantone has appointed Cindy Cooperman as vice president and general manager of Pantone. The move places her in charge of the Pantone business as a distinct unit within the wider X-Rite Pantone organisation.

Ms Cooperman brings more than 25 years of experience working with brands, designers, and manufacturers that depend on colour accuracy and consistency across design and production workflows. In her new role, she will be responsible for advancing Pantone’s leadership in colour standards while strengthening the connection between physical colour references, digital colour workflows, and visualisation tools.

According to X-Rite Pantone, Ms Cooperman’s background includes leading strategic colour consulting initiatives that help global brands translate colour direction into product design, material selection, and market-ready communication. The company said this experience will be central to reinforcing Pantone’s role in guiding customers from early creative intent through to final production.

“This is an exciting time for Pantone, and I look forward to helping shape the future of colour innovation,” said Ms Cooperman. “Today, colour must move seamlessly from creative intent to production, supported by connected digital workflows and trusted physical standards. By uniting Pantone’s colour authority with X-Rite’s colour science, we can help customers tackle complex colour challenges and develop colour and design approaches that embrace emerging processes, technologies, and business needs.”

Jeff McKee, president of X-Rite Pantone, said the appointment reflects the increasing importance of integrated colour management across industries. “Cindy has a proven track record of aligning innovation with customer needs in complex, fast-moving markets,” he said. “Her collaborative leadership, deep experience in graphic arts, and understanding of how brands depend on colour standards throughout the production workflow make her the right leader to guide Pantone into the future.”

Pantone operates as a business unit within X-Rite Pantone and provides colour standards, specification tools, and consulting services used across graphics, fashion, product design, and manufacturing. Its offerings include both physical and digital colour systems, alongside services from the Pantone Color Institute and Pantone’s B2B licensing and lifestyle divisions.
