Keypoint Intelligence has released two new forecast reports examining how the global wide format print market is expected to develop through to 2029. The reports focus on changes in print volume, technology adoption, and application value across different regions.

The reports – the 2024–2029 Global Wide Format Print Forecast and the 2024–2029 Wide Format Value of Print Forecast – suggest that while the market continues to grow, performance is becoming increasingly dependent on application mix and technology choices rather than overall print volumes alone.

According to Keypoint, growth in wide format printing is becoming more selective, with stronger results linked to specific applications and production environments. The company says this reflects a more disciplined market, where productivity, efficiency, and targeted investment are playing a greater role in shaping outcomes.

“Wide format printing is becoming more focused and more disciplined,” said Johnny Shell, senior principal analyst, wide format printing at Keypoint Intelligence. “Growth is concentrating in specific technologies and applications, and understanding those shifts is critical for vendors and suppliers planning their next moves.”

The Global Wide Format Print Forecast looks at hardware placements and print volumes across the main ink technologies, highlighting changes in production behaviour and evolving workflow priorities. It provides an overview of how different segments of the market are responding to shifting demand and operational pressures.

Meanwhile, the Wide Format Value of Print Forecast focuses on how print value is distributed by application and by region. The report aims to identify where revenue opportunities are strengthening and where they may be softening, offering insight into the relative value of different applications rather than volume alone.

Taken together, the two reports point to several key themes, including an increased emphasis on productivity and output efficiency, diverging growth patterns across regions and applications, and ongoing changes in technology and application mix.

Both reports form part of Keypoint Intelligence’s Wide Format Advisory Services and are available for individual purchase.
