Leicester-based trade printer Printvision has installed a new swissQprint Kudu flatbed printer. The installation is part of a multi-million-pound investment programme aimed at broadening its product offering and supporting growth across its nationwide reseller base.

The Kudu, installed in September at one of the company’s recently acquired production sites, is designed to increase speed, quality and flexibility in large-format output It forms part of Printvision’s strategy to expand into new and more complex applications.

Configured with roll-to-roll and dual-roll options, as well as white ink and varnish, the Kudu enables multilayer printing, textured effects, and production on rigid materials including acrylic, glass, and wood, alongside the fabric substrates for which Printvision is well known. The company expects the investment to significantly widen the range of products available to trade resellers.

Printvision managing director Krit Patel said the machine was already being tested across a broader set of materials. “The Kudu will give a wider offering to our customers. We are exploring printing on many more substrates with even greater creativity,” he said.

The 3.2×2m system offers a top speed of 341sqm per hour and is designed to be energy efficient, with an average consumption of 2.2kWh.

Printvision selected the Kudu following a demonstration at swissQprint’s UK headquarters in Bracknell. Mr Patel said the machine’s performance and build quality were key factors in the decision.

The investment follows a wider expansion phase for Printvision, which now operates across four sites totalling 60,000sqft. The company has also rolled out a new MIS and plans to launch a customer-focused website in early 2026.

Ian Maxfield, regional sales manager at swissQprint UK, said the installation aligns with Printvision’s focus on high-end trade production and positions the business to grow its offering further.
