Vanguard Digital Printing Systems, a Durst Group company, has released its newest UV-LED flatbed printer, the Natchez, expanding its Productivity Redefined line. The new printer is designed to meet the needs of print service providers working with a range of challenging substrates, including wood and corrugated board.

The Natchez can be configured with up to three rows of Kyocera 4-pl variable-drop printheads, allowing print speeds of up to 3875 square feet per hour and resolutions reaching 1800dpi. It features an enhanced vacuum table machined to a flatness of ±50 microns, which the company says ensures precise dot placement and consistent registration from print to print.

Jim Peterson, founder and COO of Vanguard Digital, said the Natchez reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and customer-driven design. “The Natchez embodies the spirit of growth and innovation that Vanguard Digital stands for,” Mr Peterson said. “We’ve designed a printer that handles demanding substrates efficiently and sustainably.”

The printer incorporates a vacuum table with approximately 127,000 one-eighth-inch holes to enhance media stability, powered by a five-horsepower blower motor for maximum substrate hold-down. A dual-zone vacuum system allows for simultaneous setup and printing, while magnetic linear drive control provides accurate drop placement for sharper lines and text. The Natchez also supports optional white and varnish ink channels alongside CMYK for greater application flexibility. Its LED curing system is designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce consumable use.

Two models will be available: the Natchez 300 and the Natchez 3220.
