Gloucestershire-based startup, SP Print Solutions, has invested in a Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX flatbed UV LED printer and a JWEI JCUT-2131 digital cutting table. The machines, supplied by CMYUK, form the production backbone of the business, which was founded four months ago by print industry veteran Steve Partington.
With more than 25 years of experience, Mr Partington set up SP Print Solutions to deliver a range of wide-format digital print applications, from display graphics and signage to bespoke packaging and vinyl graphics. Having previously worked with CMYUK, he said the decision to buy through them was straightforward. “I knew that if I wanted to find the knowledge, support, and finance in one place, CMYUK would tick all the boxes,” he said.
The Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX, known for its reliability and media flexibility, was chosen to accommodate the range of substrates the business intends to work with, including board, polypropylene, PVC, composite panels and acrylics, said Mr Partington. He opted for the four-colour plus white configuration with 1200dpi resolution, vacuum bed, and 2.5D ink layering capabilities.
To complement the printer, SP Print Solutions also installed a JWEI JCUT-2131 digital cutting table. Since its UK introduction in 2023, the JWEI JCUT series has offered a cost-effective alternative to higher-end systems. The table features a range of tools, including an electric oscillating tool, crease wheel, router, and v-cut tool, and can run at speeds up to 75m/min.
“I’ve used various cutting tables in the past, and the JWEI’s value for money and capabilities both now and for the future made it a no-brainer,” said Mr Partington. He added that he deliberately opted for the larger model to avoid outgrowing it too quickly.
“The printer and cutting table are ideal companions,” said Mr Partington. “It’s early days, but I’ve found that the majority of people who have placed an order with me have come back for more.”
