Fiery and Chinese press manufacturer INKJ have entered into a new partnership that will see Fiery’s Impress digital front end (DFE) integrated into INKJ’s industrial inkjet printers.

The Fiery Impress DFE, described as a turnkey software solution, offers features such as high-speed data streaming, colour accuracy, and workflow automation, and will now be embedded as standard in INKJ’s range of high-speed inkjet presses . The collaboration is intended to support INKJ’s expansion beyond China and bring more fully integrated solutions to market more quickly.

Fiery CEO Toby Weiss said: “Industrial applications like packaging and labelling have a wide range of requirements, from brand colours to variable data. With Fiery Impress, industrial press manufacturers no longer need to spend the time and resources developing their own DFEs, making complex integration and long time-to-market a thing of the past. We’re proud to sign an agreement with INKJ, and we look forward to providing the industrial print market both in China and worldwide with the print industry’s best DFE solutions.”

INKJ’s presses are designed for high-speed, on-demand production and include features such as dual-circulation piezo printheads with automatic cooling, proprietary ink circulation technology to reduce clogging and cleaning needs, and temperature control to enhance print quality and printhead lifespan. According to the company, its systems can print directly onto coated papers without pre-coating, enabling greater flexibility and potential commercial applications.

Tan Ming, general manager of INKJ, said: “We have developed a variety of high-speed inkjet industrial printing equipment, which have attracted great attention both in China and around the world. We are honoured to sign this agreement with world-leading DFE innovator Fiery, and believe this is a very valuable collaboration.”

Fiery has sold over two million DFEs worldwide and supports a wide range of industrial applications, while INKJ has provided services to over 500 printing companies. The two companies say the first INKJ systems equipped with Fiery Impress will be available in China before rolling out to wider international markets.
