Held at London’s Intercontinental Hotel, the seventeenth Digital Printer Awards took place in front of a buoyant audience, made up of nominees, manufactures, customers and distinguished guests.

Following the welcome drinks and catching up with peers, the guests were introduced to the event by Digital Printer’s editor Paul Sander. Highlighting the digital print industry’s ability to evolve, Mr Sander’s speech concluded with letting the audience know how challenging judging this year had been, due to the sheer quality of every entry, let alone nominees.

Once lunch was over, it was down to the main event. Hosted by Sky Golf presenter Nick Dougherty, the atmosphere was jubilant as one-by-one the winners of the awards came to the stage to collect their trophies. It was then the big one, the supreme winner, sponsored by Premier Paper. As Mr Dougherty read the winner, F.E. Burman, for its Fedrigoni 366 2024 entry, Paul Regan, sales director and Ade Onabanjo, production director at F.E. Burman re-entered the stage to collect F.E Burman’s second award of the night.

Later, speaking to the Digital Printer team, Mr Onabanjo, said about the two-million individual files that made up the project, ‘every page, of every example printed is different.’ Mr Regan concurred saying, he was astounded when he saw the artwork files loaded up onto the system, but once he saw the finished product he was blown away with what had been done.

It just goes to show what is possible using digital printing technology, raising the bar for entries into next year’s Awards.
