Canon has launched a new generation of its imagePROGRAF TM and TX Series, introducing 12 models for technical and professional large format printing applications.
Canon’s updated imagePROGRAF TX range is aimed at architecture and CAD applications
The new printers feature high-density matte black ink and enhanced image processing technology, designed to improve line precision and detail reproduction. Applications range from CAD drawings, GIS maps and technical documentation to posters and point-of-sale materials.
The imagePROGRAF TM Series comprises the TM-610M and TM-510M multifunction printers, alongside six single-function models: the TM-600, TM-500, TM-610, TM-510, TM-615 and TM-515.
Aimed at small and medium-sized architecture, engineering and construction businesses and in-house print environments, the range offers print speeds of up to 3.2ppm for A1 output on 36in models.
For the first time in the TM range, the TM-510M and TM-610M incorporate built-in scanners. Canon says scanning speeds are up to five times faster than previous configurations, while dual-sided LED illumination is intended to improve digitisation of folded and aged documents by reducing shadows caused by creases and wrinkles.
The TX Series consists of the 44in TX-4300 and 36in TX-3300 single-function printers, plus the TX-4310 and TX-3310 multifunction models, which use a separate Global Scanning scanner solution.
Targeted at larger AEC and manufacturing organisations, corporate and government departments and print service providers, the TX models offer print speeds of up to 3.3ppm for A1 output. Features include dual-roll media handling, hot-swappable ink tanks, automated calibration and a pull-out basket designed to stack drawings face-down while retaining print order.
The TX range also incorporates security features including PIN code printing, encrypted communications and secure hard drive erasure.
Both ranges use increased quantities of recycled materials, including up to 25% recycled plastic and 5% recycled iron, alongside EPS-free packaging.
