Fiery has appointed Micah Kornberg as its new chief executive officer (CEO) following the departure of Toby Weiss, who is leaving the company to lead a business in the cybersecurity sector.
Mr Kornberg succeeds Mr Weiss after serving as Fiery’s chief financial and operating officer. He has held senior leadership positions within the company since 2011 and has played a key role in its strategic development over the past 15 years.
Mr Kornberg joined the business when Electronics For Imaging (EFI), Fiery’s former parent company, acquired Entrac in 2011. At the time, he was president of Entrac, a provider of print-for-pay software. Following the acquisition, he became vice president and executive sponsor for Fiery’s enterprise accounts division, where he oversaw the development of the company’s enterprise portfolio.
More recently, Mr Kornberg helped lead Fiery’s transition into an independent company following its separation from EFI in 2023. He was appointed chief financial and operating officer in 2025 before taking on the role of CEO.
Mr Weiss leaves the company after 17 years, during which he oversaw a period of significant change and expansion. His tenure included Fiery’s acquisition of CADlink in 2022, its separation from EFI in 2023, its acquisition by Seiko Epson Corporation in 2024, and the purchase of textile software developer Inèdit Software in 2026.
Announcing his departure, Mr Weiss said the decision was driven by personal reasons and a desire to return to the cybersecurity industry, where he began his career before joining Fiery. He said Mr Kornberg had been a key member of the company’s leadership team for more than 15 years and expressed confidence in his successor’s ability to lead the business.
Mr Kornberg commented: “Toby has been an exceptional leader for over a decade and a half, and his efforts have positioned Fiery extremely well for continued DFE technology leadership and diversified growth. I’m honoured to take the reins, and look forward to guiding Fiery to even greater success in the next chapter of its journey.”
The leadership transition comes as Fiery continues to evolve following several major corporate changes in recent years, including its move to become an independent business and its subsequent acquisition by Seiko Epson Corporation. The appointment of Mr Kornberg provides continuity within the company’s leadership team as it continues to develop its digital front-end and workflow software technologies for the commercial print industry.
