Kavalan has announced a forthcoming collaboration with Serilon, aimed at increasing the adoption of PVC-free banner materials in Brazil.

Serilon, described as the largest distributor of supplies and equipment for visual communication in Brazil, will work with Kavalan to support wider access to sustainable large-format print materials in the region.

Kavalan’s portfolio includes a range of PVC-free substrates for indoor and outdoor graphics, backlit displays, wall coverings, mesh banners, and double-sided block-out applications. The materials are manufactured using water-based coating technology and are flame retardant and phthalate free.

According to the company, the materials weigh up to 45% less than comparable PVC and textile-based alternatives, are LCA-certified, and are designed for responsible end-of-life disposal.

The two companies marked the forthcoming partnership with the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the Kavalan stand during the opening day of Fespa Global Print Expo in Barcelona.

“Real change happens with collective action across the entire supply chain from suppliers and distributors to printers, brands, and creatives,” said Nova Abbott, head of marketing at Kavalan. “Another key element is accessibility and making it easier for businesses to choose PVC-free materials.”
