Denmaur Independent Papers has been appointed the exclusive UK stockist for Lecta’s Garda range of coated papers.

The agreement adds Garda Gloss and Garda Silk to Denmaur’s portfolio, with the merchant set to hold stock in both paper and board weights, including 380gsm, and in standard sheet sizes. Stock is available now, with the Garda digital range due to follow shortly.

Produced by Lecta at its Garda mill in Italy, the woodfree coated range is aimed at print applications where brightness, colour reproduction, and press performance are key considerations. Denmaur said the papers are known for their high whiteness, bulk, and print clarity.

The range will also be included in Denmaur’s Carbon Balanced at Source portfolio. Under this arrangement, the mill will fund the carbon balancing process, allowing Denmaur customers to use the Carbon Balanced Paper logo on work produced on Garda products at no extra cost. The scheme supports conservation and carbon reduction projects through the World Land Trust.

Andy Buxton, CEO of Denmaur, said: “I’m very familiar with the mill and the brilliant paper it produces. Garda has a long-standing reputation for quality within the paper and print sectors, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to become the fully exclusive UK stockist of this magnificent range.”

Lecta said the partnership would help strengthen the product’s position in the UK market.

Rafael Martinez, sales and marketing director of fine papers at Lecta, commented: “We are delighted to appoint Denmaur as the UK merchant for the Garda grade. Denmaur’s strong relationships within the print industry, together with its commitment to service and sustainability, make it the ideal partner to represent this product in the UK.”

For Denmaur, the appointment further strengthens its coated paper offering and gives UK printers access to the Garda range through a single merchant partner. The company said the deal reflects its continued focus on supplying high-quality, reliable, and sustainably sourced paper and board to the print sector.
