Mimeo has expanded its global production capabilities with the installation of a Canon varioPRINT iX3200 digital inkjet press at its UK site. The investment strengthens a long-running partnership that spans its operations in the UK, Germany, and the US.
Forming part of the company’s wider programme to modernise its print fleet and improve productivity across high-volume business units, it also increases Mimeo’s total number of Canon iX-series presses to five worldwide.
Founded in 1998, Mimeo provides on-demand printing, packaging and digital content distribution services for corporate, education and institutional customers. Its offering combines production services with online platforms designed for document management and distribution.
Since being installed, the iX3200 has begun reshaping production workflows at Mimeo, delivering rated speeds of up to 9120 SRA3 duplex images per hour and uptime levels in excess of 90%. According to the company, this has enabled some products to be printed, packaged and shipped in under an hour.
The installation was managed by Canon’s professional services team, with project management led by Steve Bancroft, who worked with Mimeo’s engineering and operations leads to oversee implementation.
