Xerox Corporation has signed an agreement with Kyocera Document Solutions to source its high-speed cut-sheet inkjet production presses, marking Xerox’s return to the cut-sheet inkjet (CSIJ) segment.
The partnership will enable Xerox to expand its production print offerings by incorporating Kyocera’s inkjet technology into its own portfolio. The new equipment will be integrated with Xerox’s existing workflow software, finishing options, and remote service tools, offering customers a comprehensive printing solution, explained Xerox.
Terry Antinora, senior vice president and head of product and engineering at Xerox, said the move is part of a broader strategy to address growing customer demand for faster and more efficient print solutions.
The company re-enters the market having previously partnered alongside Fujifilm, with that collaboration creating Fuji Xerox – a venture which lasted nearly 60 years, coming to an end in March 2021. Fuji Xerox was renamed to Fujifilm Business Innovation since April 2021.
Xerox stated that the re-entry into the CSIJ market aligns with its efforts to focus on higher-growth areas within production printing. Industry research firm IT Strategies forecasts that global installations of cut-sheet inkjet printers will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 13% between 2025 and 2030.
The Kyocera-sourced presses will be branded and sold under the Xerox name, with additional enhancements from Xerox in software and service. These new offerings will complement existing Xerox products such as the Iridesse production press, Versant presses, and PrimeLink printers.
Xerox said details on availability and specific models are expected to be released later in 2025.
