Yorkshire based commercial printer B&B Press has installed Fujifilm’s XMF Workflow and XMF Remote to enhance its production environment and simplifying its approval process.
Dan Dean, business development director at said, ‘It was ten years since our last major investment in the prepress area, and we were on the lookout for an easy-to-use workflow plus an efficient remote proofing solution.
‘XMF Workflow is a comprehensive pre-press production suite distinguished by an intuitive layout that simplifies our work environment.” He adds: “The seamless integration of XMF workflow with the Adobe software, and the opportunity to create templates for our standard formats are other significant features that will save time and increase efficiency.’
XMF Workflow’s VDP support and 3D proofing capabilities have been additional key points in the decision making process at B&B Press. Mr Dean added, ‘We produce some direct marketing applications and the opportunity for XMF Workflow to sustain high data processing volumes associated with variable data printing maximises our productivity. The 3D proofing module is also an extremely valuable function for us. We can now create a ‘virtual printed product’ to provide customers with an accurate representation of the final job.’
The company has also implemented Fujifilm’s XMF Remote, the online print job submission and approval system that helps print companies and print buyers to directly and quickly submit and approve jobs for printing. Once approved in the software, jobs are sent to XMF Workflow for automatic production.
Mr Dean concluded, ‘XMF Remote is a straightforward platform that will facilitate the approval process, helping us to reinforce the customer relationship and speed up our turn-around times. Additional automation will also put in place a more cost-effective process, where our digital and offset devices are perfectly integrated to guarantee reliable, colour consistent production flow.’
