The Nexpress SX3300

Fuller Davies has invested in a Kodak Nexpress SX3300 digital production colour press in an attempt to stand out from its local competitors.

Fuller-Davies Ltd is litho and digital printers to the adverting, publishing, manufacturing and retail industry sectors, located in Ipswich, Suffolk supplying; print and mail services to companies throughout the UK and Europe.

The company operates in an area which has a high number of printers and so managing director, Neil Stones, looked to add a differentiating factor to his business.

Mr Stone said, ‘We identified that what differentiated us was our people and our very high level of customer service. Of course price, quality and turnaround are part of the mix too, but with modern equipment these are standard, not a differentiator. Now we have the NexPress in our armoury we can offer something truly different’

One aspect of the press in particular which has impressed Mr Stone is the high quality ink, ‘The results of the Dimensional Ink are amazing and I cannot wait for customers to dream up innovative and clever designs for us to produce. Having the Long Sheet means large formats are possible, such as A4 6pp portrait and landscape and A4 8pp gatefold as it can print 914 x 356 sheets with 904 x 340 imaging format. This also opens up short run pocket folder work. The Light Black is impressive it makes such a difference to tints and screens, which has been an Achilles heel with digital printing in the past. Another great benefit is the RGB unit, enabling us to match 92% of PMS colours accurately.’

Another service Fuller Davies is promoting is its web-to-print and marketing portal and Mr Stones expects the press to help support that, ‘We work closely with ROI 360 as a software partner to develop the most effective marketing strategy for our customers along with database’s tailored to their specific demographics, this is very much a growth area’
