(L-R) Andrew Ingram, Sales Manager, Wood Richardson and Phil Ogden

Wood Richardson, print and production provider, utilised its digital printing capabilities to convey the wonders of the natural world for author Phil Ogden in his new botanical book Ogden’s Garden.

The inner pages were printed digitally in full colour, using the reel-fed, Xeikon digital press, using 160 gsm Pro-design offset – a smooth uncoated paper that held the vibrant image colours well and added a nice texture to the pages.

Using original artwork, Ogden’s Garden represents a visual celebration of some of the plants from Phil’s own garden and combines the author’s two great loves – art and horticulture.

Andrew Ingram, sales manager, said, ‘It was important to get the balance right between high definition print to bring out the stunning imagery and a textured feel to make the book easy to handle and enjoy.  Phil was keen to work with us and take our advice, which resulted in finding the very best solution for the job – a litho and digital combination.  This is a great example of how we like to work with our clients to achieve the result they all want whilst offering our ideas to create the perfect solution.’
