Xerox presses at John Brailsford printers in Rotherham

John Brailsford Printers started out with a with a secondhand single colour AB Dick 350 offset press and a small guillotine. Now 30 years on, the company is celebrating its birthday by investing in new Xerox digital presses and a Schneider Senator E78 guillotine.

‘We’ve come a long way through a timeline full of innovation and development, it doesn’t seem that far back that we were making metal plates from negatives and then we moved that to on press plate making for our waterless Pressetek 52DI in 2009.’ said John Brailsford.

The installations included a Xerox Versant 2100 high definition colour press and a fully configured D136 mono press. The Versant is a colour 100 ppm rated speed press on all stocks up to 350 gsm and the D136 is a 136 ppm black and white device. The Schneider Senator E78 guillotine was supplied by Friedheim International and is fitted with a power cutting control system and interfaced touch screen.

‘The specification of the Xerox devices is very important to our workflow, our product mix and customers print requirements mean we could require wire bound punching for one job and square back perfect binding for the next or just simple stapling or folding. The Xerox machines give us the flexibility to handle every job inline without further operator intervention.’ said Mr Brailsford.

Sales director at Xerox, Ben Waring said, ‘We are delighted that Mr Brailsford has chosen to equip his print room with Xerox equipment once again.’
