The new Onset X3
A combination of quality and productivity offered by Inca’s new scalable architecture prompted SMP to invest in the new Onset X3, boosting its industrial printing capabilities.
Two months after installing Europe’s first Inca Onset X3, 14-channel UV flatbed printer, SMP Group are already seeing a boost to production capabilities.
Darren Jarvis, new business director, said, ‘The Onset X3 has fitted seamlessly into our production portfolio and is already giving us real scope for growth in the business. We invested in the machine on the basis of the quality, flexibility and speed it could bring and now that it’s in and running, we can see what real potential it possesses in terms of the exciting new applications it can bring to us and our customers.’
Mr Jarvis continued, ‘In addition to the great performance we’ve witnessed from the new X3 printer since installation, we have also found it very easy dealing with both Fujifilm and Inca Digital. What really impressed us during the research and sales period was both companies’ honesty regarding the capabilities of the Onset X Series.’
‘It wasn’t a sales pitch as such, nor were there unrealistic promises. It was an honest discussion on what the machine could do and how it could benefit our business together with the new applications we could offer customers. Since installation, the machine has performed exactly how they said it would, which hasn’t always been the case in the past. This gives us real confidence moving forward, as when you’re investing in kit at this level, this is precisely the type of supplier you want to partner with. We believe this investment marks the first step in a long partnership with Fujifilm and Inca Digital as we focus on expanding our presence further in the industrial print sector.’
Mr Jarvis concluded, ‘We are always on the lookout for the most advanced printers that can improve our performance and the Onset X3 will be a great addition to our digital production fleet. We are impressed by the perfect balance between speed and quality offered by the machine and the 14 picolitre drop size delivers detailed, high resolution images. The 3.2 x 1.6 m bed will also allow us to lay and print three sheets at the same time, increasing our productivity.’
