Director of product management at Enfocus, Bjorn Willems
A new PDF viewer will be shown by Enfocus at drupa, the first to be based on a new technology platform, in addition to showing more third-party applications for the Switch workflow automation tool.
PDF View will be shown at an early stage with release expected to follow later this year with pricing of €3000 for a five user license. It is based on a new rendering technology called Rendro that is optimised for online viewing using HTML 5, which has been developed by fellow Belgian print workflow specialist Chili Publish http://bit.ly/1q3NkJO.
Enfocus said that it plans to show a complete workflow based on apps developed for Switch, which will be only a few months since it launched the app concept for the software and opened the Switch App store.
‘Opting for the model of apps enables Enfocus to focus on the infrastructure of Switch and to ensure the best speed and stability while app developers focus on features and functionality,’ said Enfocus vice president Fabian Prudhomme.
The company also announced that it will be adding the option of a subscription model of ownership for its products, in addition to the current license and support option.
‘Increasingly we see a need for customers to rent additional processing capacity for a couple of months,’ said Enfocus director of product management Bjorn Willems.
