The Scodix E106

Scodix will launch the E106, a B1 enhancement unit aimed at the folding carton market at drupa 2016.

Capable of up to 4000 sph the press makes short and medium run lengths viable.

‘We expect the E106 to be highly disruptive in the packaging sector,’ said Scodix chief executive Roy Porat. ‘We have already taken eight orders from prospective customers – many claimed that this was the kind of unique capability they urgently needed.’

Delivering multiple print enhancements in one platform, the E106 press delivers effects including sense, spot, braille, digital embossing, variable data finishes and foil. The foil system was developed by Compact Foilers as a continuation of the company’s ongoing cooperation.

The paper handling system was developed for Scodix by Mabeg Systems to handle a wide range of substrates from paperboard to plastic and metalized boards, using both offset and digital print and even coated and laminated products.

Mr Porat concluded: ‘The new Scodix E106 uses proven technology to deliver digital enhancement capabilities in a B1 format and therefore integrating seamlessly into existing production lines. Now brand owners can create stunning new products using effects that were previously unachievable in this market.’
