Leader in imaging solutions, Canon, is presenting Voyager, a new Prototype Inkjet Photo press, on its stand at drupa 2016 (Messe Düsseldorf, 31 May – 10 June 2016).
Based on newly developed Canon inkjet technology, the seven-colour prototype B2+ duplex press harnesses the company’s deep heritage in imaging and sets out to push the technical boundaries of inkjet to a new level of quality.
A range of samples are being displayed to illustrate the machine’s photographic output quality on a range of different substrates, including standard offset media.
The company expects Voyager to be of interest to print service providers producing high added-value applications, such as catalogues, brochures, marketing materials and customer publications for luxury brands, real estate, food and travel where the quality of image reproduction is paramount. With its high gloss, photo quality output, Voyager could also lend itself to the production of classic photographic applications such as premium quality photo books, single photos and commemorative prints.

Voyager is a prototype and is not commercially available.
