The Berlin-based PDF technology specialist, which has 30 years of experience in automated PDF quality control, correction, and archival solutions, said the agreement reflects its increasing focus on Latin America as a key growth region. Databrand brings more than 20 years of experience in developing solutions for graphic arts workflows, particularly in areas such as colour management, standardisation, and automation.

Francisco Deijangle, managing director at Databrand, said the partnership would help address growing demand from customers for more efficient and predictable production environments.

“Our customers are increasingly looking for efficiency, predictability, and large-scale productivity,” he said. “In this context, we identified in callas software the level of automation, reliability, speed, and flexibility required to enable this next stage of operational performance.”

The collaboration will combine Databrand’s technical expertise with callas software’s PDF processing technology, including its flagship pdfToolbox product line. According to callas, pdfToolbox can be configured to act as the core processing engine in automated PDF workflows, ranging from basic preflight checks through to more complex production tasks.

David van Driessche, chief evangelist at callas software, said the company’s partner-led approach makes local expertise essential when deploying advanced workflow tools.

“We don’t sell our solutions directly to end-users, but partner with local resellers or integrators who have a high degree of knowledge. The expertise Databrand has in-house with regard to color management, standardization, and workflow automation is exactly the mix of skills we love to see,” added Mr van Driessche. “pdfToolbox can do anything from simple preflight, to serving in complex scenarios such as the creation of proof sheets, adding cut contours, undercolor white, verifying barcodes… Products with that level of versatility naturally come with a learning curve, and require a strong partner to get the most out of them. This is why callas continues to expand its partner network with organizations that bring strong technical expertise and local market understanding.”

Databrand, based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, will support customers across both the domestic and wider Latin American markets as part of the agreement.
