The print industry has lost a valued friend, colleague, and passionate advocate with the passing of Sharron Mahony, who died on 11 February 2026.

Sharron was known to many through her work with the Independent Print Industries Association (IPIA), where she played an important role in helping to revitalise the organisation. She was instrumental in supporting efforts to refresh the association and strengthen its engagement with the print community. Her energy, commitment, and belief in the value of collaboration helped bring renewed momentum to the organisation during a significant period of development.

Beyond her professional work within the print sector, Sharron was also deeply committed to campaigning on issues that mattered to her. She was an active supporter of the Sling the Mesh campaign, which raises awareness of the serious complications caused by surgical mesh implants and advocates for improved patient safety and support for those affected.

Those who knew Sharron remember her as someone who cared deeply about people and causes, combining determination with warmth and generosity. Whether working within the industry or supporting campaigns beyond it, she brought dedication and integrity to everything she did.

Sharron’s passing is a great loss to the many colleagues and friends whose lives she touched. She will be remembered not only for her professional contribution to the industry, but also for her humour, compassion, courage and commitment to making a difference.

She will be greatly missed.
