William Smith has expanded its VION range with the launch of VP1, a monomeric vinyl designed for short-term promotional applications.
The film is intended for projects where lifespan, cost, and visual impact must be balanced, giving printers and sign-makers a lower-cost option for everyday promotional graphics.
Designed for applications lasting up to one year, VP1 is suited to point-of-display graphics, exhibitions, retail promotions, and decals. By focusing on short-term use, the material is offered at a lower price point than polymeric alternatives while maintaining print performance and ease of handling.
The vinyl features a bright white surface designed to support colour reproduction across multiple print technologies, including eco-solvent, solvent, UV, and latex. According to the company, the gloss finish is intended to help graphics stand out in busy retail or event environments.
Two adhesive options are available: a removable grey adhesive intended to allow clean removal at the end of a campaign, and a permanent adhesive for applications requiring a stronger, longer-lasting bond.
The product is supplied on a lay-flat polycoated liner designed to support consistent liner release during contour cutting and decal production. It is available in roll widths of 1520mm and 1370mm, with a roll length of 50 metres.
“VP1 is a great example of how the VION range continues to evolve around real customer needs,” said Lindsay Hutchinson, head of marketing at William Smith Group 1832. “We know there is strong demand for a dependable, short-term vinyl that delivers excellent print results without the cost of a polymeric film. VP1 does exactly that and gives our customers more flexibility when quoting and delivering promotional work.”
William Smith said the new VP1 film expands the VION range with a product aimed at sign-makers and printers producing short-term promotional graphics. The material is available now.
