Canon EMEA has named Peter Saak as chief of its Integrated Printing & Services Group (IPSG). The appointment marks a leadership transition as the business sharpens its focus on integrated print and document solutions across the region.
The IPSG division, previously known as Digital Printing & Solutions, brings together Canon’s advanced printing technologies with value-added services designed to support more connected and efficient print and document management environments for customers and partners.
Mr Saak brings extensive experience from senior leadership roles across Canon’s regional sales organisations. He has previously served as B2B country director for Canon Eurasia, managing director for Canon Central & Eastern Europe, and managing director of Canon Austria. Most recently, he held the position of executive vice president for the Developing Regions Business Group, where he was responsible for driving growth and strengthening Canon’s market-leading position across B2B product segments in Southeast Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His remit also included customer acquisition and partner channel development.
In his new role, Mr Saak will be responsible for leading the strategic integration of Canon’s printing technologies with services and solutions, alongside a focus on innovation and channel expansion into new markets.
The appointment follows the departure of Hiro Imamura, former executive vice president of Digital Printing & Solutions, who has returned to Canon Inc.’s headquarters to take up a new role within the Printing Group. During his five-year tenure at Canon EMEA, Mr Imamura played a key role in driving market share growth in workspace printing technologies and solutions, as well as expanding the company’s production print business.
“I am confident that Peter’s extensive B2B experience, customer knowledge and strong leadership across many of our EMEA markets will drive the success of our Integrated Printing & Services Group,” said Sam Yoshida, president and CEO of Canon EMEA. “I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to Hiro for his outstanding contributions and leadership, which have been pivotal in developing our printing business.”
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Saak said: “I am honoured to lead the newly renamed Integrated Printing & Services Group. Our goal is to build on the incredible foundation that exists, continuing to combine our innovative technology with solutions and applications that meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners.”
